Overview of the course

Impact has become one of the key evaluation criteria in European research proposals. Researchers might have a difficulty in understanding the concept of 'Impact' and in explaining the potential impact of their proposals. The aim of this course is to explain the concept of 'impact' and provide researchers and research support staff with guidelines on writing the impact part of Horizon 2020 proposals.

The course is held by Dr Sean McCarthy a specialist in training courses for European researchers.

After the course you will have the opportunity to register to the follow up seminar “Write your Personal Impact Plan, PIP” where you have the chance to discuss impact in your own research project with fellow researchers and research officers from KTH Research Office.

About Dr. Sean McCarthy

Dr. Sean McCarthy has been involved in all aspects of European Research since 1980. He has been active as a researcher, research manager, research group leader, and company director. He has been involved in over 150 proposals, 60 research projects and was the coordinator of 16 of these projects. Sean has evaluated over 200 proposals in 10 different European programs. Today he specializes in the design of training courses for European Researchers and since 1997 over 41,000 participants have attended his courses in 29 countries.
